Children can start school for the first time in the Reception year group in the academic year after their 4th birthday and must start school in the term after their 5th birthday. Applications must be made by 15th January of the academic year in which their 4th birthday falls. Applications after this time will be considered to have been made late. Applications can be made online using the link on Oxfordshire County Council’s website online here or on paper.
A visit to the school is strongly encouraged and will give you more of a feel for the place – so please contact the school office on 01865 351416 to arrange a visit. We would be happy to show you around. You will be able to meet the staff and pupils and begin to see how we work.
Our school is part of the coordinated in-year admission process for Oxfordshire. We have a few places available in most of our classes. Please apply online here for in-year transfers.
Beckley C of E Primary School is an Academy managed by the River Learning Trust and as such is its own admissions authority. The River Learning Trust has delegated the responsibility for admission arrangements for Beckley Church of England School to the Local Authority, Oxfordshire County Council. Our current published admission number (PAN) is 20.

The schools in River Learning Trust that are in Oxfordshire are consulting on their Admissions Policies for the year 2021/22. This is primarily to ensure that the Trust’s schools’ policies are in alignment with the in-year admissions arrangements for the OCC which our schools adhere to. The main change to the policies is in the way that distance to the school is measured and this is now “straight-line distance” in line with OCC practice. Our school’s proposed policy can be found here: Beckley Church of England Primary School Proposed Policy 2021. It is also on the OCC consultation portal. The consultation period will end on Friday 24th January 2020. Should you have any comment or query on the policy please contact Mark Szortowski, firstname.lastname@example.org
