Teaching Assistant Roles

The Governors of Beckley C of E Primary School are looking to recruit two Teaching Assistants:

Position 1: Permanent 30 hours per week, 6 hours per day, term time only between 8.50am and 3.20pm (with unpaid half hour lunch break)

Position 2: Temporary 15 hours per week, 3 hours per day, term time only.  Preference would be for afternoons but consideration will be given for mornings if necessary.  There is a possibility that this role could become permanent in the future depending on staff restructuring and pupil numbers.   

Both positions will take effect from September 2021.

The Teaching Assistant will support children’s learning by working with individuals, with small groups and/or by giving general help in the classroom to the teacher.  The role will also include daily lunchtime supervision (except part time mornings only post).

Our staff work together as a team sharing responsibility for monitoring and recording children’s progress.  Flexibility, patience and cheerfulness are essential to this post. 

The successful applicant will:

  • have previous experience of working in schools
